An exceptional group of speakers headline the first day of this year’s ALFCA Convention starting Thursday at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery.
The convention leads off with Duke’s David Cutcliffe at 5:30 PM followed by Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead at 6:50 PM.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban begins at 8:00 PM. He is bringing with him his new offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian, former head coach at USC and Washington. Coach Sarkisian will speak on passing game concepts.
After Coach Saban and Coach Sarkisian, the ALFCA will have their annual Coaches Social at the Embassy Suites.
UAB’s Bill Clark kicks off Friday’s schedule at 8:30 AM. He will be followed up by Auburn Head Coach Gus Malzahn at 9:40 AM, who is bringing linebacker coach Travis Williams with him.
Former Auburn coach and current ESPN analyst Gene Chizik will speak at the Masters session at 10:45 AM. After lunch, some of the best high school coaches the state has to offer will break off in to different rooms to discuss various topics. The clinic part of the convention will conclude with the ALFCA General Meeting at 3:30 PM to discuss topics important to all of the state’s football coaches. A Hudl remote plus other door prizes will be given away with the conclusion of the meeting.
The ALFCA Coach of the Year Banquet will be held at the Embassy Suites ballroom on Saturday at 11:15 AM.
