ALFCA TO HOLD VIRTUAL CLINIC THIS JANUARY

ALFCA Executive Director Jack Wood has announced that the association will hold a virtual clinic this January instead of the usual annual convention in Montgomery.

"We did everything we could to try and make the convention happen, but under the circumstances the board and I feel it is just not possible," Wood lamented after this weekend's ALFCA board meeting in Tuscaloosa. "So after looking into the possibility of a virtual clinic, we just think it will be the best thing for this year. Hopefully, we can all be back together in Montgomery in 2021."

The virtual clinic is set for Friday, January 29th, 2021.

Wood said that he and the board wanted the association to be able to offer something to its members in place of the convention. "We have been working on the possibility of the virtual thing over the last month, and believe we can do it first class," the director said. "We will be offering it at no cost to our Alabama coaches. Hopefully we can put together a great lineup that will interest our membership," Wood said.

Coach Wood did announce that the annual ALFCA Coach of the Year Banquet will take place as usual on Saturday by taking in some additional space at the Embassy Suites. "Our plans are to provide a live feed of the banquet this year for the first time. We are excited about that and hope that those who are interested but might not be able to attend can watch the event live." The banquet is scheduled for January 30th at 11:15 AM.

ALFCA President Terry Curtis was appreciative to Coach Wood for his time and effort on this project. "Jack was determined that we were going to have something for the coaches if we couldn't have the convention.," Curtis said. We are all going to work hard to make this a good event that our members will want to watch."

The line up of speakers will be announced soon.
