Will Wagnon

There are assistants who stay in one place long enough to become familiar. And then there are coaches like Will Wagnon—who collect experiences across Alabama, and build on them year after year.

As offensive coordinator at Auburn High School over the past 5 seasons, his Tiger offensive squads have been prolific. The Tigers have made a championship game appearance, and been to the semifinals twice. In two of those seasons, Coach Wagnon’s offense has been the top scoring offense in 7A football The 2024 Auburn team averaged 44.7 points per game, a school record.

Head Coach Keith Etheredge says, “Will’s knowledge on the offensive side of the ball is unquestionable. Last year we had the #1 offense in 7A, but we lost most of our starters. So he changed our offensive scheme to fit this year’s players and gave our team great success.”

Coach Wagnon was a three sport letterman at Hokes Bluff High School in the mid 1990s. He then was a two year starter in football for Jacksonville State University.

He has 21 years coaching experience including head coaching stints at Munford and Hazel Green. He has also served as an assistant at Cherokee County and Oxford. He has been a part of coaching staffs that have been to the Super 7 on five different occasions.
