For nine years at Reeltown, Coach Patrick Henderson has done both—teaching details, creating answers, and shaping an identity that shows up every Friday.

In 2025, Reeltown’s offense rolled at 40.2 points per game, mostly because the system perfectly aligned with the players running it. Head Coach Matt Johnson points to Henderson’s innovation and his ability to adapt schemes and concepts to fit the personnel. That flexibility is what separates a playbook from a plan.

Reeltown finished 10–4, and the offense never stopped attacking—spacing, tempo, and answers when defenses adjusted. That’s Henderson’s signature: teaching players the “why,” not just the “what,” so they can play fast and free.

And then there’s the loyalty. Former Handley coach Mike Battles called Henderson “fiercely loyal, hardworking, and knowledgeable,” the kind of assistant you want beside you when the pressure rises and the margin gets thin. Around a program, that steadiness becomes contagious—players trust it, coaches lean on it, and a team starts to believe in what it’s doing.

Coach Henderson’s family is grounded in Reeltown football as well, with the strong support of his wife Robyn, his son Finn, a senior on Reeltown’s 2024 state title team, and his daughter Sophie who cheers on Friday nights.
