Malzahn, Lindsey Set for ALFCA Convention

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and his offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey are set to speak at the 13th Annual ALFCA Convention.  The convention will be once again held at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery, January 25th-27th.

Lindsey returned to Auburn from Arizona State, where he served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2016. The Sun Devils started the season 5-1 before losing three quarterbacks to injury; running back Kalen Ballage tied an NCAA record scoring eight touchdowns in a 68-55 win over Texas Tech.

As offensive coordinator at Southern Miss from 2014-15, he developed the Conference USA 2015 Offensive Player of the Year in Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens, who ranked second in the league in passing yards (4,145) and touchdown passes (36), and ranked in the top eight in the nation in both marks in 2015.

The Southern Miss offense broke five single-season school records in 2015: completions (312), passing yards (4,263), total offensive yards (6,758), touchdowns (67) and points (528), as the Golden Eagles recorded nine wins, a Conference USA West Division title, and a berth in the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl against Washington.

Lindsey served the 2013 season as an offensive analyst at Auburn.  He had come to Auburn after serving as Head Coach at Spain Park High School.
