Former Enterprise and Fairhope head coach David Faulkner has joined Neal Brown's staff at West Virginia as a special assistant to the head coach.
Faulkner comes to West Virginia after serving as the offensive coordinator at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia this off season. Prior to that, he was the director of player personnel and high school relations at Troy University for two years (2019-21).
Before joining Troy, Faulkner served as head coach at Enterprise High School where he made four trips to the playoffs and was named the 7A Coach of the Year in 2016 after a 10-2 season. Before that Faulkner was head coach at Fairhope where he revitalized a storied program to a 28-9 record over three seasons, with three playoff trips and four playoff victories.
During his days as an assistant, Faulkner coached at Hoover, where the Bucs played in four championship games, winning three of them during his tenure. He left to become the offensive coordinator at Foley High School where he worked with Julio Jones. He also coached at Prattville, Alma Bryant and Clarke County.
West Virginia head coach Neal Brown said, “I want to welcome, David, his wife, Christie, and his family to Mountaineer Football, ” Brown said. “I have known David for many years as a successful and championship-level coach in the high school ranks. He brings years of experience and will be a valuable member of our football program.”
Faulkner is a graduate of T.R. Miller High School where he played quarterback for long time college and high school coach Joel Williams.
