Nix Named State’s Mr. Football for 2018

Pinson Valley’s Bo Nix continued his off season accolades on Tuesday when he was named Mr. Football at the Alabama Sports Writers Association Player of the Year Banquet.  The event was held at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery in conjunction with the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association.

After transferring from Scottsboro when his father Patrick took the head coaching job at Pinson Valley, Nix went on to become the AHSAA all-time leader in total offense (12,497 yards) and touchdowns accounted for with 161. He led Pinson Valley to the last two 6A State Championships.

As a senior, the 6’2, 210 pound Nix completed 267 of 447 passes for 3,795 yards and 50 touchdowns.  He was the MVP of the 6A championship game after throwing for 3 touchdowns as Pinson Valley defeated Saraland 27-16.

Nix has signed to play college football at Auburn, where his father was a star player in the early 90’s.
