AHSAA Top Performances for September 3rd-4th, 2026

Thompson’s Trent Seaborn seemingly has been the Warrior’s QB as long as Tom Brady was with the New England Patriots.  He just stays…forever.  And the senior is putting up eye popping numbers in his final season as well.  Friday night, Seaborn became the all-time career yardage leading in AHSAA history in passing as he overtook Piedmont’s Jack Hayes (2019-2022).  The Alabama commit now has 11,031 yards (seven more than Hayes) with the bulk of the season left to possibly get to over 13,000 yards.  The top ranked team in 6A took down #2 Rebels 49-0 with Seaborn playing long enough to finish with 18 of 21 for 264 yards and three TDs.  Seaborn is already the career completions leader (814 and counting) and is only 33 passing attempts shy of current Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix’s mark of 1223.  Seaborn is also sixth currently in career TDs passing (114) and has a 71% career passing percentage.  That trails only James Raines of Berry High school who is slightly ahead at 72%.

TEAM TALK:   

Calera is 2-0 for the first time in ten years beating Chelsea 31-14 on Friday night.

Gulf Shores upsets top ranked Saraland in 5A, 34-24 and stops the Spartans 41-game home winning streak.

Hewitt-Trussville’s Josh Floyd gets his 100th win with a 40-24 region win over Hoover.  Huskies with 423 yards rushing on 55 carries.

Homewood snaps six game losing streak to Mountain Brook as they take the Spartans 33-13.

Seven different Briarwood Christian players scored TDs in their 49-7 win over Westminster Christian.

#3 in 5A Parker had 415 yards rushing in a 42-13 takedown of Mortimer Jordan.

#7 Spain Park had 531 yards total yards (331 rushing) as they outlast Oak Mountain 42-21.

Leeds exploded with 591 total yards on offense in the 57-7 win over Sylacauga.

Orange Beach upsets #2 Vigor 21-19 with the help of four interceptions on Friday night.

#1 in 4A Williamson held B.C. Rain to only 12 yards of offense in their 56-0 win.

Explosive Performances:

Elijah Malone – Gulf Shores:  Jax State commit has 133 yards on 7 carries including a 77 yard TD. He also blocked a FG that was returned for game winning score in upset of top ranked Saraland 34-24.

Jack Floyd – Hewitt Trussville:  Sophomore had 155 yards rushing on 29 carries in 40-24 win over Hoover at QB position.

Reid Goldstein – Homewood:  Twelve attmpes netted 166 yards and three touchdowns as the Patriots beat the Spartans 33-13.

Nygel Mitchell – St. Michael’s:  In a losing effort, Mitchell had 236 yards rushing and two touchdowns as the Cardinals fall 17-13 to UMS Wright.

Matthew Evers – James Clemons:  Talented QB had over 300 yards passing and three TDs with all being over 45 yards.

M.J. Gideon – James Clemons:  Had 173 yards rushing and 79 receiving and three total touchdowns in the Jet’s 49-20 defeat of Bob Jones.

Colson Griffin – Helena:  Has game winning 22-yard interception return for a TD as the Huskies take down rival Pelham 27-21.

Will Simpson – Randolph:  Caught game-winning TD and intercepted a pass as Randolph wins 20-13 over Lee-Scott Academy.

Levebvre Watson – Randolph:  205 total yards with 25 rush attempts and seven receptions and a TD.

C.J. Davis – Spain Park:  Had 184 yards rushing with only 11 carries and two scores as Jags beat Eagle 42-21.

Kentrell Tolbet – Oak Mountain:  IN a losing effort, Tolbert was spectacular with 183 yards and averaged over nine yards a carry.

Kameron Murphy – Parker:  Finished with 240 yards and 3 TDs running and 70 yards and another score receiving in their 42-13 win over Mortimer Jordan.

Demetrius Terrell – Parker:  Crazy effort with four sacks in the Thundering Herd’s victory over Mortimer Jordan.

Ladarien Miller – McGill Toolen:  Had two interceptions and also scored 3 touchdowns offensively as they knock off St. Paul’s 34-24.

Jabarie Wiggins – West Morgan:  Had 209 yards on 14 carries and five touchdowns as West Morgan takes down brooks 63-14.

Carter Feagin – McAdory:  Totaled five receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns (one each rushing and receiving) as the Yellow Jackets outlast Northridge 41-37.

Bennett Schorfhaar – Leeds:  QB was virtually perfect finishing 16 of 17 for 273 yards and four TDs in a 57-7 win over Sylacauga.

Taylor Gaiter – Leeds:  WR had 8 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns for the Green Wave.

Jackson Hyde – Oak Grove:  Had 14 tackles and blocked a PAT kick in the 33-19 win over Fairfield.

Kendrick Able – Theodore:  Had 239 yards rushing and three touchdowns in the 31-28 win over Baldwin County.

Neil Brown – Wenonah:  Finished 15 of 22 for 304 yards and five touchdowns in the 48-0 win over Woodlawn.

Damazia Taylor – Wenonah:  Also a tremendous basketball player on the state title team, DT finished with 7 catches for 176 yards and four touchdowns.

Logan Stewart – Gardendale:  Kicked game winning 42-yard field goal with 1:59 left as the Rockets survive over Jackson-Olin 21-20.

Sam Garrison – Oneonta:  Had five touchdowns and 291 total yards as the Redskins take down Holly Pond 65-14.

Jaxon Ballington – Oneonta:  Had two sacks in the 65-14 win over Holly Pond.

Davis Barnett – Bayside Academy:  The super QB had 358 yards with only one incompletion (19 of 20) and six touchdowns as they win over Bayshore Christian 49-7.

Nic Ronsisvalle – Fairhope:  Had 182 yards rushing and three touchdowns in the 42-28 takedown of Foley.

Aiden Cook – Whitesburg Christian:  Finished with 197 yards on 29 carries as Whitesburg Christian prevails 43-14 over Coosa Christian. 

Reese Beasley – Opelika:  Superb punting by Beasley with two kicks of 56 yards and another 43 yarder as Opelika wins over Enterprise 38-21.

Zyien Dupree – Gaston:  Exploded for 373 yards and five touchdowns as Gaston wears out West End 60-36. 

Notables:

Jonathan Chandler gets his first head coaching win at his alma mater as #8 Opelika wins 38-21 over #10 Enterprise.  The win comes against his former Opelika QB coach, Ben Blackmon (under Spence McCracken).

Northside’s Bennett Green becomes that program’sall time leading rusher finishing with 149 yards and four touchdowns on only 6 carries as Northside wins 56-0 over Montevallo.  Green is a West Alabama baseball commit.
